Description
ASME #420 Steel Cylinder: 120 Gallon
The #420 designation refers to the 420 lb propane capacity, which is why these cylinders are commonly listed as 120-gallon tanks. Both numbers describe the same vessel.
What it suits
This is an above-ground cylinder for modest, defined loads: gas fire logs, a range or cooktop, a dryer, or a similar single-appliance supply. It is the size most often chosen where a full bulk tank would be excessive.
Manifolding for larger loads
Cylinders of this size can be connected together and run as one supply. Two or three manifolded #420 cylinders will carry whole-house heating for a smaller property, and the arrangement can be extended later without replacing the vessels. That is useful where access will not accommodate a single large tank.
Installation
Siting and setback distances are governed by NFPA 58 and by your state and local authority, and connection must be carried out by a licensed propane professional.
We deliver the cylinder. We do not install it, fill it, connect it, or arrange permits.
