Description
500 Gallon Above Ground Propane Tank
A 500 gallon above-ground steel tank, the standard size for a whole-home propane supply.
Owning rather than leasing
Most households on propane lease their tank from the company that fills it, which means buying gas from that company at whatever price it sets. Owning the tank outright changes that: you can take quotes from any supplier in your area and switch whenever it suits you. Over the life of a tank that freedom is usually worth more than the purchase price, and it removes annual lease fees from the equation.
The trade-off is that maintenance and inspection become your responsibility rather than the leasing company’s, and you carry the up-front cost.
Installation
The tank must be installed in accordance with NFPA 58 and your state and local requirements, on a prepared level base and at compliant setback distances. Installation must be carried out by a licensed propane professional.
Confirm your permit and installer before ordering. We deliver the tank to an accessible point on your property. We do not install it, fill it, connect it, or arrange permits.
