1,000 Gallon Propane Tank (AG/UG)
A horizontal steel tank carrying the AG/UG rating, meaning it is approved for installation either above ground or buried. Above-ground tanks are painted; underground tanks are coated for burial. This one is certified for both, which is useful when the siting decision has not been finalised.
Typical applications
At 1,000 gallons this is a whole-property tank. It is the usual choice for heating a large home or a commercial space, and comfortably carries additional load such as a pool heater or a standby generator on the same supply.
Before you order
A 1,000 gallon tank is a substantial installation. Setback distances from buildings, boundaries and ignition sources are governed by NFPA 58 and by your state and local authority, and buried installations additionally require correct backfill and cathodic protection.
