250 Gallon Above Ground Propane Tank, ASME, New
A new horizontal steel propane tank built to ASME code and painted for above-ground siting, manufactured by Quality Steel Corp. The 250 gallon size is the step between a 120 gallon cylinder and the 500 gallon whole-home tank: enough for supplemental heat or two or three appliances without the footprint of a 500.
Usable capacity: about 200 gallons
A 250 gallon tank is filled to 80% of its rated capacity, roughly 200 usable gallons. The remaining 20% is deliberate vapour space so the liquid can expand as temperature rises. Plan consumption and refill intervals against 200 gallons, not 250.

- Check setback rules. Distances from buildings, property lines and ignition sources are set by local code and NFPA 58; confirm with your local authority before siting the tank.
- Prepare a level pad. A 250 gallon tank needs a stable base about 9 ft by 4 ft.
- Confirm who fills it. Not every supplier fills customer-owned tanks. Ask before you buy.
- Use a qualified technician for connection and first fill. We supply the tank; we do not install or fill.
